The Cure.

I love The Cure. I am in no way ashamed of it. I would shout it from my rooftop. Actually, if I don't have anything going on later, I might. You know, just for the sake of doing something. But really. I have this extreme love for The Cure. They heal me. They.. (cheesy joke coming on!) cure me. Ghahahh... Okay. Really though.

Let me tell you the sweet story of when I first knew I loved The Cure. I had just finished watching Just Like Heaven with Reese Witherspoon for the first time. I love that movie, and I am also not ashamed of that. I think it's adorable, and good Hubert will SOMEONE JUST BRING ME BACK FROM THE DEAD WITH A KISS AND BUILD ME A GARDEN ON THE ROOF ALREADY?! ... Sorry. I just... I feel strongly about it. Anyway. Back to The Cure. I googled Just Like Heaven lyrics, actually trying to find the lyrics to a song that plays after she leaves him. I'm now pleasantly aware that it's a song by Amos Lee called Colors, and it is gorgeous... But at the time, what came up to my search were the lyrics to Just Like Heaven - The Cure.

I don't even think that song is ON the soundtrack to Just Like Heaven the movie. I could be wrong, but I think I would have remembered my ears being tickled by the tune before. Just because I want to be a writer, I read the lyrics, because frankly I was intrigued by the little preview below the search result. Bless you, Google. You know how to draw a sucker in. The lyrics were so sweet, and tender. And just full to the brim of beautiful images, and I thought, hey. I like me some of that. I YouTubed it, and here we stand. I suggest you do the same. This song is perfect for a drive somehwere, windows down, warm air flooding the car. Let it happen, and it'll brighten your day by 100 percent. Perfect day, guaranteed.

And for some reason, and I'm not exactly sure why, I woke myself up this morning singing another Cure song. No, really. I heard it, and realized it was me singing it. Which is weird on a couple different levels, but mostly because I haven't listened to The Cure for a good month, unfortunately. This time, I had Lovesong stuck in my head. Another beautiful song. I really like that this is just a simple, love song. It's exactly what it says. I love that their songs differ like that, from the cliche, but real feeling of Lovesong, to the specific story in Just Like Heaven. I heart the Cure. And I just reallly felt like sharing.
