An appreciation post.

I have a firm appreciation for high heels. More often than not, you'll find me in jeans, a t-shirt, and my sneaks. Unless I'm already in p-jams or yoga pants, accessorizing with my glasses, a top-knot, and a spoonful of PB. It happens. But there is something undeniably awesome about wearing an attractive pair of heels from time to time. AND PEOPLE. I never, ever want to hear the words, "I'm too tall for heels." Nope. No way. Stop that right now. The above pair are my favorite, and they put me at a solid like... 6.3. I always feel good about it. And if someone's hatin'... you can take them down with your sheer, terrifying height. OWN those heels, girlfriend.

I appreciate sunny days and self-timing fails. Hahaha. Like I said. I may be too tall to be alive... but you're never too tall to be fabulous. Preach! 5 feet 8 inches has never looked more significant. I appreciate being tall. I also appreciate that Kira is short. She is beautiful.

I appreciate blue skies, feeding ducks, and also, that they seem to favor Sun Chips. Just one more thing we have in common. A couple of the others? Flighty social skills and the longing to fly South for the winter.

And finally, I appreciate this kid. Sunday was his mission farewell, and tomorrow he enters the MTC to go serve the people of Indiana. He is one of the most loving, compassionate, and thoughtful friends a person could ask for. Matty-face is truly my little brother. I am so proud of the man he has become and the friendship we share. He has a vulnerability and sensitivity that a lot of men lack the courage to show, and he is so strong and genuine because of it. Also, we are dang funny together.

 I will miss our walks, drives with a bag of Cheetos in the console between us and the windows down, and playing catch on sunny afternoons. 

You are going to do great things, my friend.
