Could You, Uh, Repeat That?

All right. So before I begin to tell you this, I would like to clarify that I am not, in fact, hard of hearing. At all. I am very capable of hearing. I might have even been told my hearing is... Super sonic. Out of this world. Like that of a blind man.

But have you ever been around someone, and you're just so numb to the fact they aren't going to say something to you, that when they do, you're just not even sure if you heard it right? Okay, so that happened to me last night. If I had social censors or whatever, I would have found it really embarassing, but kind of awesome. Since I don't, I just found it... kind of awesome, you know? I was with some people, and with us was this kid (holy specifics, Batman!) and I was walking past him, right? I was just not expecting it. I wasn't expecting anything really. And I think, I think he said, "I love you, Shelby." Which isn't a big deal. But its the fact that it happened so fast and I wasn't expecting it. I wouldn't have even given it a second thought except, I can't be one hundred percent sure it happened. Its probably super lame that I did give it a second thought, I don't know. Its probably not super cool of me to blog about it. But, fortunately, I'm not concerned with that.

And, I mean, really, what was I supposed to do? Turn around and demand that they repeat it? Okay, so I totally did that. I mean not in those words exactly. I did attempt to check myself before speaking. (I do that sometimes. Not always, but sometimes. Sometimes its nice.) So rather than turn and yell, "Oh, what was that?! COULD YOU REPEAT THAT THERE, SKIPPY? Even though I'm not even sure you were talking to me... I thought you said you loved me. YOU LOVED ME. Oh, how you loved me. Did you say that? Was that you? WHAT DID YOU EVEN SAY?!!!???????" I went with a more subtle approach. I said, "What?" And, I'm pretty sure they said it again. Hahah. But I still don't even know for sure.

I don't know, I was just super phased out. I floated into the other room and still, I couldn't be one hundred percent sure that it had just happened. Yeah, what's up. I'm an overanalytical freak. And I'm still thinkin' about it. I'm bloggin' about it, for Pete's dragon! Hahahaha. Oh awesome.

Awkwardly whispered/mumbled, "I love you, Shelby." (...?)
Shelby, "What...?"
Muffled, maddening response, "I love you Shelby." (?)
Shelby pauses. "Um, yeahhhhkay totally, mmm, rightbackatcha chief. K later.."

Maybe, my life would make the best movie ever. I don't know. Sigh. I love situations that would be awkward, but just are not. You know what else is just not awkward, AT ALL? This picture of the Hoff. Totallllllly not awkward. Not even a little. Bahahah!
