Yesterday was a sunny day. And oh, how I needed that. I wish I could explain what the sun does for me. It is absolutely perspective-altering, I think. It makes me giddy! Also, my evening class was cancelled. So, after a much-needed nap (I currently have a cold that apparently requires 500 hours of sleep nightly... So I am always tired.) and a few errands in a t-shirt and my moccasins, I had the whole afternoon to myself and the sun.
The internet was down in my side of the complex, from one until.... well. It's still down. But I am on campus now, so it's probably fine. I don't know if we've talked about this, but I'm fairly positive there are Internet hating trolls hopping around my apartment complex, gnawing on the cords to all our routers, because about once a month, this happens. Sometimes, it makes me cry and want to pull my hair out as I try to connect to Wifi from strangers' phones to submit online assignments. But on sunny days with homework that can wait until tomorrow when I am on campus, these trolls are a gift from heaven above. A little technological break is one of the best things for the human soul, I think. We think we need the Internet every second, our computers all the time, our phones constantly... but guess what? All the time, you really don't.
After a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter and a juice-box (Hi. I'm six.) I grabbed my Harry Potter blanket, found a spot on the lawn not occupied by a couple in love, and flopped down with a book I have been trying to read since the beginning of the semester. That's a pet peeve of mine about the school year. I like learning, I like my field-work, I like writing. What I don't like is not having the time to read a book of my choosing all the way through. Here's hoping I finish you soon, little book.
As is, I got caught up in people-watching and got kinda sleepy. Hats off to the cutest couple I've ever seen canoodling on the lawn - seriously. Didn't even bother me, and as much as I could've mocked them, they were just happy. And also, thanks to the funny boys wearing pre-mission swim trunks on ...post-mission bodies. :/ They were having a picnic... with each other, and told me to scream bloody murder whenever people came within a certain radius of their "little patch of heaven" while they went for a swim. Hahaha. I loved them.
Ah, summer. I will see you soon. And we will enjoy working hard, laying out, playing hard, and seeing the world. Life, I like you.

I'm SO lurking. a) I like your new design b) I like that you take really pretty pictures of the sun shining on your beautiful face whilst reading a book c) I like it whenever you post something on your blog d) and I just like YOU. Actually. I love you. :)
